Project Overview

The Beehive Master Beef Manager Program (BMBM) was devised to educate producers about risk by helping them identify various types of risk in their operation, and then teach them principles to aid them as they develop strategies to mitigate that risk.
This project continued expansion of the program. Two additional counties were served, while maintaining the program in five original county teaching locations. Producers were introduced to risk management, taught how to identify and prioritize risk and provided tools to reduce their risk. BMBM takes a holistic approach to mitigating risk.
This program’s strength is that the producers establish the agenda to meet their local needs. While similarities exist between counties, priorities relative to the order in which various topics need to be addressed are established by the attending producers. This allows “buy in” to the program and provides the teaching team with information which lead to targeted programming.
