Agriculture is an industry that faces production, marketing, financial and legal risks—there is no shortage of risk in farming today. Nevertheless, the most often over-looked risk is the human risk associated with employing labor. When this risk is not properly mitigated, the business and workers may realize financial, emotional, and personal hardships.
WFB's project, Agriculture Human Resources Boot Camp III: Development of a Strategic HR Risk Management Plan, is a practical, comprehensive seminar that addresses the need for a business to mitigate the human risk. Participants will gain tools and knowledge to build and implement successful HR risk management plans (also known as a business’s human resources policies and procedures manual).
Bootcamp III is taught by agricultural HR/communications experts and an attorney. Participants were taught about common labor laws through real scenarios, and how to address them in the workplace. They received curriculum handbooks/notebooks, and customizable manuals for developing their own HR policies and procedures.
Participants of Boot Camp III did not have to have participated in WFB’s prior bootcamps to benefit. This is a standalone offering. WFB reached 111 unique and primary human resource managers with Boot Camp III through both in-person and virtual 2-day bootcamps.
