The Advanced Online Marketing Strategies for Tennessee Farmers
project provided educational opportunities to help participants
manage marketing risk by learning, evaluating and implementing
advanced online marketing strategies. The
program targeted Tennessee farmers involved in value-added, direct
marketing
and agritourism enterprises. It included the development and
delivery
of three curricula via 20 educational programs to help participants
efficiently and effectively reach potential customers and make sales
transactions: 1) E-commerce options for direct marketing of farm
products 2) Advanced
social media/digital marketing and 3) Video content creation and
marketing.
The program reached 567 people through educational programs and/or individual technical assistance. A total of 250 out of 252 participants completing evaluations (99 percent) reported increases in knowledge of digital marketing strategies to enhance their online marketing efforts. All 52 participants completing a follow-up evaluation six months after attending a workshop indicated they had implemented at least one practice or procedure learned.
