Project Overview
Mitigating Farm Stress: A Workshop on Personal Well-Being was an in-person seminar designed to address the health and well-being of Kentucky farmers. While resources and outreach efforts are becoming extensively available for our farmers in crisis, this workshop was designed to provide additional attention to preventing our farmers from reaching a point of crisis.
The workshop specifically addressed the health, stress and well-being within the human risk category. Due to the interconnection of identified stressors, the workshop also addressed interpersonal, family and business relationships as well as indirect aspects of financial and legal risk.
The workshop was conducted 4 times in partnership with collaborators- Kentucky Women in Agriculture, Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation, and the Young Farmers Association. AgSafe worked in conjunction with partners to target beginning producers, small farms and women producers. The program participation goal was 60; however, due to the success of partnering with planned conferences, we were able to reach 208 individuals! Supplemental tools and resources provided to participants to maximize the effectiveness of the content delivered during the Workshop.
Number of Participants: 208
