Project Overview

Tackling human risk at the Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska Women In Agriculture Conferences is what the focus of this grant will be all about. The three states have conducted conferences for a combination of 32 years, helping empower women involved in agriculture in the area of risk management. With the three states working together, we can promote a unified program for the women in our areas. In 2004 our states plan to focus on human risks associated with agriculture using hands-on classroom style sessions. There will be a variety of workshops including: estate planning, women’s health, communication, raising children in ag, and employee management. Through participating in these sessions, women will have a better understanding of human risk management and be able to bring that aspect back to their farming operation. Between the three conferences we expect 700 women to attend the various sessions regarding human risk management.
