Ten educational seminars addressing agricultural marketing and financial risk for Ohio producers were developed and delivered as a result of this project. Ohio Farm Bureau, partnering with several organizations, provided seminars to a diverse group of producers around the state. These included five marketing seminars providing educational information/resources and strategies for increasing income through sound marketing strategies. Another five seminars provided producers with the educational information and resources to create a personalized business plan for their agricultural operation. The goal was to reach a total of 500 producers through these seminars. Actual participation was much lower, with only 42 participants attending the seminars. By six months after the seminars 60% of participants will have completed personalized business plans and/or identified a personal marketing strategy.
