Project Overview

“Strategic Marketing for Your Farm’s Future” empowered producers to make marketing decisions for their farming operation and communicate those decisions to the farm management team, key financial advisors, and family.  This 5-session marketing course was offered online via Zoom.  It addressed crop marketing strategies, tools available to assist with marketing, technical analysis of markets, diversification into niche markets, how to communicate decisions, and tools to address stress associated with marketing highs and lows.  These sessions were presented by Purdue Extension Educators, Purdue Extension Specialists, and industry representatives.  In addition to the live webinars, a series of 7 supplemental videos were recorded and made available via YouTube. The supplemental videos are currently public and continue to be utilized by Extension personnel when needed. Participants in the “Strategic Marketing for Your Farm’s Future” program were surveyed immediately following the program and approximately 5 months after the conclusion of the program. The end goal of the program was to see what tools the participants were introduced to during the course that they had attempted to utilize within the 5 months.
