Project Overview
Intergenerational transfers of farm/ranch assets may represent the most significant risk faced by many agricultural families. During 2004 - 2005, 842 Montana farm and ranch families became more informed about effectively transferring their farms and ranches to future generations. The educational program was financially supported by a grant from the Western Center for Risk Management Education.
The main focus of the project consisted of 22 face-to-face seminars and a video conference. Attendance at the face-to-face seminars ranged from seven in Miles City to 53 in Glasgow for a total of 568. An interactive video conference was broadcast from the Burns Telecommunication Center on the MSU campus to 12 sites throughout Montana in February 2005 to 274 individuals with satellite location attendance ranging from eight in Sidney to 47 in Baker.
Number of Participants: 842
