Project Overview
Managing Health Insurance and Health Crisis Planning for Ranch and Farm Families
1. Risk Management areas: Insurance products; plans and tools to address succession, estate planning, health and well-being and Interpersonal/family/professional/landlord relationship skills.
2. Delivery: Project was presented as part of our Annual Region Meetings in Oregon and Utah and as part of the Mid Winter Meeting for the Colorado CattleWomen
3. The audience were ANCW members in the Western Region, AZ 10, CA 3, CO 10, ID 1, MT 5, NM 3, NV 5, OR 10 UT 7 WA 5, WY 2 and 38 men and women in Colorado.
4. Three workshops.

The results were: provide a communication tool for families to discuss health insurance/health crisis planning issues; a better understanding of health insurance intricacies; a better understanding of Medicare and Suppletmental insurance and having the right amount of health related insurances so if a crisis arises, not to dramatically impact the economic stability of the family ranch.
6. Although we expected 55 attendees at each of the two meetings based on previous attendance figures, a total of 30 and 32 respectively attended the meetings. From those participants, 56 initial evaluations were turned in, 36 final evaluations, providing measurable outcome. With funds still available, we offered more workshops and Colorado CW accepted. We had 38 participants including women and men. From those participants, 24 evaluations were returned the first round and 11 for the final version.
