Project Overview

The High Plains Ranch Practicum has been highly successful and previously funded by RME in 2008 and 2010. We have now completed the Northern Rockies Ranch practicum
The program consisted of eight full-days of instruction spread across 5 months. This grant allowed the program to be offered in a new region (Northern Wyoming and Southern Montana) and expanded to include components designed to help ranchers who operate on ranches with a large public land component. This course helped prepare our participants to work successfully with public land agencies for sustainable management of both the ranch and the natural resources within its boundaries. We also taught sessions on business and livestock marketing plans, range and livestock insurance and unit cost of production, that have been included in previous practicum.
