1) Crop Insurance
2) Grain Merchandiser credit
3) Grain Storage

Education Method
1) Participants will attend a three-hour meeting to learn how to combine commodity-marketing strategies with crop insurance to properly manage risk. Participants will have the opportunity to voice concerns or questions about current crop insurance regulations.

Timeframe: September 2005
Anticipated Attendance: 200

2) Participants will also attend a daylong conference where they will have the opportunity to learn about several topics including:
i. How to apply crop insurance knowledge to individual operations
ii. How to reduce risk associated with cash sales or storage agreements
iii. How to implement production practices that can reduce risk

Timeframe: Winter 2005
Anticipated Attendance: 300

Target Audience
1) North Dakota and Minnesota farmers that raise 1,500 to 3,000 acres of diversified crops
2) Agriculture Management students from vocational colleges

Anticipated Results
100 participants will implement risk management strategies in their operations.
