Project Overview

The AMMO program project has continually provided risk management education programs to Eastern Washington producers, while growing its service area. Workshop topics offered throughout the year were: DOT farm-truck regulations; using good financial records; understanding marketing basics; improving family/business communications; implementing marketing strategies; farm business succession; business plan; using GPS to manage input costs; and making good capital management decisions. We utilized speakers from a variety of sources - university, local business and industry professionals. We offered 9 workshop topics in four different locations (32 total workshops). We utilized an aggressive marketing plan including direct mail, social networking, paid advertising and word of mouth through the network of agricultural sponsors (AMMO) we have developed. Participation fees were charged for all workshops, to offset additional operating costs not covered by the grant.
