We continued to build on the success of the Southern Agricultural Lease Education Program. We were able to host 6 more in-person workshops throughout Texas and had over 400 Texas producers and landowners in attendance. This turn out was four times the projected attendance included in the grant application.
Locations were selected to impact producers across the state and included Lubbock, College Station, Pearsall, San Angelo, Cat Spring, and Archer City. These participants represented over 591,000 owned and rented acres. Evaluation responses were exceptional, with 100% of the participants saying they would recommend this program to a friend.
We hosted a 1-hour webinar, designed to be a condensed version of the full workshops. Sixty-seven people participated in the webinar, some of whom have already attended a live workshop after the webinar.
We continue to receive requests for copies of the materials from the in-person workshops from those unable to attend and have ordered extra copies of the Ranchers Leasing Handbook to accommodate these requests. Additionally, we continue to get requests for programs and were successful with a third round of grant funding, which will allow us to host several more programs.
