Project Overview

Illinois and Indiana will be working together to deliver Annie´s Project--Risk Management Education for Farm Women to an estimated 300 women. Sets of trained instructors will deliver a curriculum designed around the five areas of risk, production, market, financial, legal and human resources. Classes take place in three hour blocks, over six meetings. The first five meetings are planned; the topic for the sixth meeting is decided by the class. Women are trained to use spreadsheets to help them assist decision-makers make good decisions. Women also learn about money management, marketing commodities, where to find information on the internet, enrolling in E-gov and how to handle stressful times on the farm. Over the six class periods, highly skilled and confident women become mentors to less skilled and less confident women.
