Project Overview
This project was two-fold, its focus was to develop a network and materials to sustain Ohio´s Annie´s Project and it also developed an in-depth financial management training for Ohio farm women.
A workshop focused on financial risk management that consists of four classes held once a week in the income statement development, Quicken basics for farm recordkeeping, and benchmarking. The workshops include hands on activities and homework.
Workshops consist of four session classes and target 10 -12 participants each. Coordinated by an Extension educator who leads a team of local instructors addressing specific issues, and delivering core instructional components.
Outcomes included increased knowledge, ability, and confidence related to:
(1) developing financial statements
(2) using Quicken Software
(3) managing farm finances and making decisions
(4) conducting farm financial analysis
OSU Extension along with community partners piloted this second level Annie’s Workshop during the winter of 2011 in three counties with 47 women participants.
To assist with Annie´s Project sustainability, a facilitator guide was developed and has been distributed throughout Ohio and several other states.
Number of Participants: 160
