This project provided practical, important information to Texas landowners. From the Owning Your Piece of Texas handbook, to five live presentations, to an online recording of a presentation, this project achieved its goal of educating Texas landowners on legal issues they are facing. The handbook is available to download online and was given to all live workshop attendees.
The response to the live programs held in Lubbock, San Antonio, Crockett, Cat Spring, & College Station was unexpected, a bit overwhelming, and very exciting. We projected to have 125 people total at the live programs. We ended up presenting to 830, more than six times the projected number. The total number of acres represented was over 432,000.
Attendees were pleased with the programs. Of those completing an evaluation, 98% reported intent to implement something learned at the program in their operation. Evaluations indicated a 71% knowledge increase over all topics. 95% of attendees believe attending the workshop will allow them to decrease risk in their operation. All but one attendee (99.8%) said they were "mostly" or "completely" satisfied with the program & would recommend the program to a friend. Multiple attendees dubbed this the best educational program they've attended to date.
