Project Overview

The MN Canola Council/Northern MN Forage and Turf Seed Advisory Committee Annual Conference is an event at which canola and grass seed producers, industry representatives, researchers and regulatory representatives collaborate and share information on research and regulatory issues to reduce production and financial risk. It features an impressive line-up of speakers, including an expert from RMA. Researchers will provide agronomic information to producers who will then be able to incorporate the information into their farming operation. The risk management specialist will detail for producers the canola and grass seed crop insurance policies and educate them as to the new insurance option known as AGR-Lite, coverage which protects whole farm income rather than particular crops. This transfer of information is intended to help producers reduce their production and financial risk and increase profitability. Funding will be used to cover administrative costs of coordinating the event, supplies, travel, facility, and speaker expenses.
