Project Overview

To date we have not publicly released the on-line course that is being developed. We plan to continue to develop and then deliver an interactive web-based tool that aids in education on price risk and marketing management for beef and swine producers. This was intended to be an on- going project with potential to reach an audience after the project concludes.  We plan to release module one of the on-line course which covers basic information on price risk management tools this winter and followed shortly after by module two which will cover developing and implementing a price risk management plan along with a case study that course participants can use to put what they have learned into action.  We had released the crush margin app that was designed to assist producers in determining if they could lock in a margin over feed and feeder livestock in Jan. of 2018.   Due to losing access to on line futures data in late April the crush margin app is currently not working but we are close to getting it working again. 94 users accessed the app. We did not do in person meetings during the 2017-2018 fall and winter as planned.
