Project Overview

The objective of this project was to deliver two dairy management workshops. In these workshops we covered and discussed: 1) production risk, 2) marketing risk, 3) financial risk, and 4) human risk.
Delivery means for these workshops were: peer-discussion, spreadsheets, educational videos, and fact-sheets. The audience appreciated very much the delivery format (see workshop evaluations).
We delivered each of these 2 workshops at the four major dairy locations within the State of Virginia. We will also deliver once again at University of Nebraska (scheduled for December 2016).
Attendants developed/analyzed/compared/decided about: 1) business strategic plans, 2) financial records, 3) investment analyses, 4) balance sheets, 5) farming systems, and 6) risk management decision-making tools.
We reached 87 people in total, including (mainly) farmers, extension agents, loan lenders, and students.

Number of Participants: 87
