Project Overview
The objective of the project are to promote the sustainability of Wyoming cattle producers through use of a comprehensive production strategy and risk assessment program. Producers will receive training on goal setting, insurance ortions, risk management strategiess and financial enterprise analysis. Producers will then receive information on marketing and production strategies. To reinforce the tools taught participants will practice risk assessment and enterprise analysis for an example ranch at the end of each production strategy session. This project will build on an existing program offered in Wyoming. The project will be accomplished through eight, 3-hour, workshop sessions at four locations in Wyoming during 2010. In addition we will provide written and web publications and one-on-one consultation with interested producers. It is anticipated that 40 producers will attend the workshops with all graduates completing a risk and enterprise analysis for at least two potential opportunities for their own operation.
