Project Overview

This project reached 645 Wisconsin producers on farm succession planning education. This was accomplished with 15 workshops and individual facilitation meetings. The project also reached farmers through one peer discussion group series. The workshops, meetings and peer discussions provided succession strategies/tools used by Wisconsin farmers.
One hundred twenty-one professionals were trained on farm succession aspects.  One training provided farm succession facilitation training for professionals to build farm succession facilitation capacity in Wisconsin. The second training provided professionals information on taxation of partnerships and LLCs and how profit interest partnerships can provide a vehicle for transferring assets/wealth through the business.
The project also provided two webinars and one podcast to further disseminate succession information. The topics were ag leasing, tax implications of transferring from a sole proprietorship to an LLC and shopping for an attorney. These webinars were recorded and will be archived and available for additional participants to view.
