Project Overview

Annie’s Project was held at eight locations in Maryland/Delaware. The sessions utilized distance learning and local speakers for the eight evening sessions. There was a total of 101 farmwomen registered.

During the program participants heard presentations from a variety of resources on topics in risk management. They include communicating with families, personality styles, estate planning, land use, business planning, grain marketing, crop insurance, specialty crops, recordkeeping, computer basics and spreadsheets for the farm.

Following the the course evaluation results concluded high adoption of business planning (95%), computer use (95%), personal communication (96%) and reviewing credit reports (93%). Participants also report that they will prepare financial statements (89%), create/update their estate plan (87%), update insurance policies (74%) and review their lease and property agreements (47%).
