Project Overview

This project is addressing legal risks: environmental regulations and financial risk: strategic planning. We have developed an interactive website tool that allows farmers to obtain an environmental sensitivity report for any parcel of land in the 48 contiguous states. A sample report has been uploaded to the Educational Material section of this final report. The tool works on desktop and mobile platforms. We are using existing geo-referenced datalayers of landscape, population and policy features revealing environmental sensitivities and provide relevant risk management ideas. Educational materials have been developed and are accessible via links in reports created by users. The website (AgSite.missouri.edu) contains a link to a webinar on how to use the site. We have presented AgSite at multiple conferences in multiple states.  In total, 21 meetings and one webinar were held with 962 total participants; while 11,274 have visited the website.  Participants, including farmers, land appraisers and bankers have created 5,907 environmental sensitivity reports on parcels of interest.
