Project Overview
The MidAtlantic Farmwomen’s Network delivered risk and farm management training to women in the region through a variety of learning environments. These included: 1. Annie’s Project classes which was an eight week course attended by 39 women, focusing on risk management education held at 4 locations across Maryland, 2. Annie’s II classes (Managing for Today and Tomorrow) which was a 6 week course attended by 17 women giving a more in-depth focus on financial and farm transition planning held at 2 locations across Maryland and Delaware, 3. A Multistate Regional Women in Ag conference attended by 158 participants across 5 states featuring 3 keynote presenters and 20 breakout sessions for participants to choose from. The focus of the conference was to provide women involved in agriculture an opportunity to come together to learn about current issues and topics with a focus in risk management and 4. Quarterly newsletters and farm tour/events. By these combined courses 214 participants were assisted in the risk areas of human, legal, price and financial risk.
