Project Overview

This project brought reality crashing down onto farmers who thought they had an idea of what it cost them to run their operation. Some of the participants were new farmers while others more experienced. They plugged in their numbers and found that their ideas on costs often were not in sync with what it really cost. Some crops had high costs while others lower. Farmers were able to gather important information from the exercises of analysis to discover what they should be charging for prices, whether they should be growing certain crops,if their markets are really supporting what they need to sell there, and what is required to expand, and more.
From the COP workshop, farmers are now making plans for a new season with strong decision making tools in their pocket which may make a bigger profit for them in the long run.
