Project created four dairy farm models to assist small, beginning,
transitioning and established dairy producers aspire towards highly
profitable dairy practices in conventional, grazing, organic, and organic-no grain dairy
systems.
Millionaire Dairy Farm models have proven to be an important
decision-making tool for budgeting, benchmarking and futuristic
financial planning. Using 18 dairy farms as a basis, each farm was
surveyed and analyzed financially to establish benchmarks and profit
levels.
Using the financial benchmarking information collected, 16
classroom sessions, 2 webinars which are archived as on-line learning modules, six beginning
dairy farmer videos, and over 100 individual visits, producers increased
their awareness, understanding, and decision-making ability.
Following
the educational delivery, 15 beginning producers have
begun selection of their production system and completed a financial
profit projection. 15 established producers re-evaluated their
current system and decided if some type of production or system change
will improve profits.
