Project Overview

Legal Aid of Nebraska taught participants to understand business structures and intra-family contract arrangements, and assisted them in choosing , implementing and updating business structures that address the tax, management, succession, and asset protection goals of their individual agricultural enterprises. Our participant audience included limited resource producers, beginning farmers and ranchers, and retiring landowners.  We conducted 18 workshops and round tables covering the state which included break-out discussions.  We also met with numerous participant families one-on-one, both in clinics and in at-home session, subsequent to the workshops and roundtables, to assist producer families in analyzing and crafting individual business structure and succession plans, plans that would foster sustainability and growth in their operations.
