Project Overview
Seventy-nine participants in four workshops developed skills and addressed
issues; empowering families to communicate, resolve challenges and talk
about solutions.
Breakouts provided a setting for young farmers and senior farmers to share
wants, needs, fears and expectations (adapted from Mr. John Baker’s program) in
a non-contentious atmosphere. Breakout facilitators shared the results with the
entire workshop audience and participants realized they were not alone in their
challenges.
Following the review workshop participants held impromptu farm meetings
to discuss possible solutions to a challenge they faced. Each farm unit then
shared their challenge and potential solutions with the entire group.
The room was filled with healthy discussions and a sense of relief
as farmers shared their heart, souls and desires to transition the farm and
work through the challenges.
An experienced Ag law attorney reviewed legal options and answered
questions and concerns of the participants. A financial professional also shared business
information.
