Project Overview

 

The educational trainings focused on risk management through business and financial planning, marketing strategies, and sustainable production practices. Four on-farm, risk management workshops were held in Arkansas. NCAT partnered with Heifer International to recruit and train beginning, veteran, and underserved farmers. Project participants developed business, financial, and marketing goals and evaluated enterprise diversification options for their farms. They received planning workbooks, resources, and follow-up assistance to develop complete business/financial plans for their operations and make changes to their operations. The project provided 8 training hours to 101 producers through
workshops and 1 training hour to 40 participants through a conference presentation.
