Project Overview

The Project PI´s developed within a single decision-making environment, a system by which dairy farm operators can evaluate the cost and performance of the myriad of output price and margin risk management tools. We provided training in the integrated dairy risk management system via a series of in-person and web-based workshops. Project PI´s have provided (and continue to provide) training/market information prior to the monthly sales of LGM-Dairy. This project extended the established software systems contained within the Understanding Dairy Markets website.

Specific project objectives were to (i) provide producer training as to alternative price and dairy gross margin risk management strategies, (ii) provide producer training in the incorporation of market information/forecasts in their risk management planning process and (iii) provide producers monthly a review of market conditions and a summary of alternative strategy performance.
